Fireworks in Manila

If you have never seen the fireworks in Manila you are really missing out on a special treat. I've never ever in my life seen anything like it to lift the heavy spirit and bring a sense of awe. Having seen years and years of "American" and "Canadian" style fireworks has left me bored and uninterested in the crowds, traffic and waiting for something to happen. Not here! Fireworks and firecrackers for hours upon hours all building up the the expected crescendo at midnight but not just of the usual 15-20 minutes but a full hour of non-stop pops, bangs, whizzes and multi-colored showers of light in every direction. Manila is a big place. Fireworks from horizon to horizon in every direction. People everywhere celebrating and bringing in the New Year with a "Bang" like none other. What an amazing spectacle.
