Hi Sigrid, This is unbelievably a very bad scene. It is without doubt important for people to know about slaughters like this and it is equally important to let people know what they can do about it to release that energy back to the universe toward a solution. What can be done other than to feel helpless? What organizations are interested? What government in Denmark can we voice our disapproval to?
Since the Pledge of Allegiance and the Lord's Prayer are not allowed in most public schools, But 'God' is allowed, a 15 year old fromArizona re-wrotethe Lord’s Prayer as follows:

I am sorry but I find your view is as un-humanitarian as the whale killers. I do understand your feelings and I totally agree that their actions are shameful but we must not reduce ourselves to their level. When the left and the right go to the extreme, they become the same. Think about it. There must be a better way if we really believe in the sanctity of life. Let's not reduce ourselves to a level so low to kill humans too; pray for our sacred planet and spread the word of their deeds in the quickest way possible, be a spokes person and let your anguish be heard and show your true humanity to all creatures even the lowly whale killers. If they attack you as you stand between them and the whales; then you will have your opportunity for blood. Women are frequently quick to send men to war and then stand on the sidelines and watch in apparent horror. Why is that? Joan of Arc was different, a peasant girl born in eastern France, she led the French army to several important victories. If the women on the shores of the Faroe Islands would say, "No". The blood shed would be over. Women fail to realize the power they can have over men and their stupidity in trying to proving to women that they are a "man". The battle of the sexes rages on and on ... See: http://www.hoax-slayer.com/denmark-whaling.shtml for the full story.
“There is an old fable that tells of a time when man had grown so evil that the angels decided to take all goodness and wisdom away from him. But once taken, where would they put it? Man’s hunger for domination over everything was so insatiable that no place was safe. One angel suggested burying it deep within the earth, but the other angels knew that man would mine the earth in search of all its riches and find the goodness and wisdom, so that would not work. Another suggested the ocean, but again that idea was squelched. After pillaging the earth, man would certainly move to the ocean to strip its treasures and thereby find goodness and wisdom. What about the outer space? No, there was no way man would stop at the earth and ocean. In his quest, man would move out into space to try to conquer that as well. No, goodness and wisdom would not be safe there. Where would they put it? Finally one wise angel said, “We will put goodness and wisdom inside of man, for with everything we know about him, that is the last place he will ever look.” And so it is to this day, all the goodness and wisdom of God and all his angels becomes buried and hidden deep within the hearts of all people of every color, every country, of every religion and belief as they learn and grow from little sweet innocent children to adults. “Lest we become as little children we shall not enter the Kingdom of God. “ It can take a life time to unlearn it all. So, to find your goodness and wisdom the richest treasure of all; you must learn to listen from the heart, where you will find the greatest treasure of all; the truth of who you are, then you will see everyone for who they really are; as perfect and innocent as little children.
"If there is light in the soul, there will be beauty in the person. If there is beauty in the person, there will be harmony in the home. If there is harmony in the home, there will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, there will be peace in the world."
I have always felt very empowered by this Chinese proverb because it reminds me that peace in this world begins with me! As you join with your loved ones this Holiday Season, may you remember that your light is what will transform the event. Don't wait to see if this gathering will be less stressful this year; you can make it different by letting your light shine. No one and nothing has to change for you to let your light shine, but the benefits you reap will change you.
The words silent and listen have the same letters, just mixed around. I never realized that, but it is true! Isn’t that interesting? Only when we are silent (emptying out the chaos in our minds) can we truly listen. Maybe that is why the Christmas hymn Silent Night says: "silent night, holy night."
"To be touched by a God-like experience; is to become open to a God-like consciousness..." This is one of those things that you know you could have written but didn't. Special thanks to the late, Robert A. Johnson
