Hi Jai,
Thanks for your response and honesty. It seems to me that honesty is at the heart of all "religions" and may I call them 'belief systems' that help us make sense of a complex world which in itself often leads to the problems we see in our daily lives.
Someone believing they are right and "God" is on their side and some how loves them more than the rest of us 'infidels' 'non-believers' 'gentiles' 'heathens' 'pagans' etc etc. seems more than a bit off to me.
Here's and oxymoron; more people have died in the name of religion than for any other reason; even though nearly all religions condone killing! Yet, they kill. Religious wars still exist, even though we are told they don't.
My point of view; this 'ego' problem stems from a deep seated need to be "right" in order to deny the deeper problem of insecurity within their own belief system. In this regard; religion has failed them but then again these are tough lessons to learn when we follow others rather than our hearts.
Have a Blessed Day.
